Help my house sale is being stopped

Hi please help me. I found a buyer for my house and everything was ticking along nicely until the solicitor asked me to explain a 2004 CCJ that came up on a file. I don’t remember any CCJ’s and I certainly didn’t go bankrupt. They asked me to prove it was satisfied but they do not know the company or the case number for me to even look into this matter. They have now informed my buyers and the house sale is on stop. All credit reports only show CCJs with 6 years and I don’t know how to get a case number as it’s so old. Please tell me what I should do

Why would they care if it was satisfied or not?
I do plenty purchase transactions for people with unsatisfied ccjs.
Also, data protection should surely have kept this information away from your buyers.
None of this makes sense to me0 -
I don't understand why a CCJ would matter either unless the CCJ has resulted in a Charging Order against the property.0

Is there a charging order against your property?0 -

There is no charging order on the property & they wont budge they need to know if its been satisfied. It was my solicitor that brought it up and said they had to stop the sale until it is sorted. They do seem very young in the solicitors office - I wonder if they are creating problems that they shouldn’t be0

They're probably concerned about disbursal of funds after completion.0

What's the "file" which has disclosed the CCJ?0

But what can I do if it’s not on my credit report (as this was 2004) so I do not have any details of the CCJ & Northampton court have said I need the reference number or they can’t help.0

I'd be asking my solicitors why they are creating problems about this ancient CCJ you have no record of, that would have been removed from your files after 6 years if it ever existed. I'd be asking for what information they have. Otherwise sthey should top making a fuss about it. It could have been a CCJ applied to your record by mistake, unusual but it can happen. At this stage you can't do anything about that.
Ask for a copy the information they have.0 -
They email they wrote says 2004 Bankruptcy Notice under section 86 of the land registration act 2002, in respect of a pending action, as the proprietor of the registered estate.0
